Each SWCD is governed by a five-member board of supervisors elected by the citizens of the county. The SWCD board is responsible for policy development, annual plans, long-range plans and budgets.

Why Serve on the SWCD Board?
An elected board of Supervisors governs each SWCD in Minnesota.
Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) collaborate with federal, state, and local governments to offer educational trainings, technical support, and financial assistance for conservation initiatives. They help landowners and communities understand and access various conservation programs, providing personalized guidance based on local environmental and agricultural needs. This tailored approach ensures that the specific challenges of each community are addressed effectively.
